Tuition fee loan
- Tuition fee loans are available to help pay the cost of your tuition fees.
- They are paid directly to the CTG by the Government.
- You can apply for a
tuition fee loan up to the full cost of the tuition fee.
- Tuition fee loans are
not repayable until you are earning over £21,000 a year.

Maintenance grant
- You can apply for a Maintenance Grant to help with living costs.
- Maintenance
Grants are paid into your bank account at the start of each term.
- Maintenance
Grants are available to students whose household income is £42,875 or less.
Your household income is your parents or partners income and your own.
The maximum Maintenance Grant for 12-13 is £3250 if your household income is
under £25,000. Maintenance Grants are not repayable.

Maintenance loan
- You can apply for a Maintenance Loan to help with living costs. Maintenance
Loans are paid into your bank account at the start of each term.
- The exact
amount you can borrow depends on your family income, where you live and
what help you get through the maintenance grant.
The maximum Maintenance Loan for 12-13 is £5500 (studying outside London). Maintenance
loans are not repayable until you are earning over £21,000 a year.

Council tax
- As a full time student you can apply for council tax reduction / exemption.
- This depends on who lives in your household.
- You will need an official letter
to apply, which is given to you by CTG when you begin the course.

Other financial support
- Disabled Students can apply for extra financial support through Disabled
Students Allowances (DSAs).
- These grants are paid in addition to the standard
student finance package.
- They do not depend on income and do not have to be
repaid.

support. These are in the form of the Adult Dependants Grant, Childcare
Grant and Parents Learning Allowance.
